she & him

i heard about She & Him a while ago, and while it thought it was interesting and interesting pairing, it didn’t make it on to my ‘must-have’ list. now, after having listened to the ‘Volume One’ album in full, i am in LOVE. Zooey Deschanel’s voice, as previously heard in the holiday movie Elf and on a few tracks on the Coconut Records (Jason Schwartzman) record ‘Nighttiming’, is heavenly. it’s warm & creamy and i want to spread it on toast. M. Ward is, as always, wonderful as well, though his vocals only make a few appearances on the album. i’ve listened to it 3 times and it is becoming a favorite. can’t wait for ‘Volume Two’.
